PUP – SRC Firefox Club Public Speaking Training

Speaking in front of a crowd scares a lot of people. A research done by the National Institute of Mental Health says that 74% of people suffer speech anxiety (link here).

Fear of Public Speaking
As far as I know, being able to confidently express your ideas, thoughts and opinions is a huge advantage for every individual. So being a Club Lead for the PUP-SRC Firefox Club, I know that one of the training that we need to do is about public speaking. And last January 30, we held a mini Public Speaking Training. This is an echoing of a workshop I attended last February 2015 (link here) and I reused the presentation, Faye Tandog used back then.

PUP-SRC Mozilla Club Maker Party

In celebration of the PUP – Sta. Rosa Campus’ IT Week 2015, with the theme 3D: #Dream # Develop & #Deploy; Ideas today for Integrating Tomorrow’ the PUP-SRC Mozilla Club partnered with Eligible League of Information Technology Enthusiasts to bring a Maker Party into the campus. A Maker Party is Mozilla’s campaign which aims to help people increase their understanding on the web and take greater control of their online lives. PUP – SRC Firefox Club Recruitment Campaign

Firefox Student Ambassadors or FSA are individuals who are passionate about Mozilla, the open web, and the many benefits of Firefox and its products. The PUP-SRC Firefox Club is a group of FSAs in PUP – Sta. Rosa Campus. Initially, there were only less than ten members of the Club at the start of the 2015 academic year, but as of October 2015 there are (drumroll please) more than 30 members. How did we do this? We launched the #PUPSRCYearOfTheFirefox Campaign.
