A hundred and one days had passed since that fateful morning on August. A morning that changed my life and I can still replay it vividly on my mind, that day we lost my father.
In celebration of the PUP – Sta. Rosa Campus’ IT Week 2015, with the theme ‘3D: #Dream # Develop & #Deploy; Ideas today for Integrating Tomorrow’ the PUP-SRC Mozilla Club partnered with Eligible League of Information Technology Enthusiasts to bring a Maker Party into the campus. Firefox Student Ambassadors or FSA are individuals who are passionate about Mozilla, the open web, and the many benefits of Firefox and its products. The PUP-SRC Firefox Club is a group of FSAs in PUP – Sta. Rosa Campus. Initially, there were only less than ten members of the Club at the start of the 2015 academic year, but as of October 2015 there are (drumroll please) more than 30 members. How did we do this? We launched the #PUPSRCYearOfTheFirefox Campaign.
In the Philippines, Merienda is a term generally coined for a lighter meal eaten in between breakfast, lunch or dinner. Last July 28 and 29, I together with some members of the PUP-SRC Firefox Club held a MozMerienda, our own localized version of MozCoffee. With the increasing number of Firefox Student Ambassadors from PUP – Sta. Rosa, I thought that the MozMerienda is a perfect opportunity for them to have a formal introduction into the program and get to know more about the Open Web.
